Huawei Mate 50 Pro arrives in Spain with its new camera and smart services

The high-end phone from the Chinese company Huawei, the Mate 50 Pro, finally landed in Spain and came with some new features.

With the Huawei Mate 50 Pro launch in China at the beginning of September, which is at the top of the brand’s flagship hierarchy for 2022, we are left with doubt about the possible international and Spanish debut of this Chinese top-of-range, focusing on social networks.

Note that the series comprises three different models, the Huawei Mate 50, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro and the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 50 RS.

Well, as we reported at the end of September, we had the great news that finally, yes, it was going to reach Europe, and we assumed that it would also reach Spain.

The presentation date in Europe of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro Global was set for September 26, 2022, in Germany. Now, according to the brand itself, it lands in Spain to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the launch of the Mate Series.

Despite the large size of this smartphone and especially the 6.74-inch 120 Hz OLED screen, the Mate 50 Pro turns out to be relatively easy to handle, at least more than some competing flagships with the same size screen.

On the other hand, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro has the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, albeit without 5G connectivity, for apparent reasons. For the same reason, there is no Gorilla Glass. Instead, Huawei uses Kunlun Glass for its OLED panel. One of the standout features, BDS-3 satellite messaging, is not available on this international variant.

The cameras are the great strength of the Mate smartphones and the Mate 50 Pro as it comes with XMAGE imaging technology, a 50 Mpx variable aperture,  a 64 Mpx periscope (3.5x optical zoom) and an ultra-wide configuration of 13 Mpx. XMAGE enables “more versatile photography capabilities that produce the perfect content for posting to social media,” they explain.

These robust features are further enhanced by the EMUI 13 operating system, rather than Harmony OS 3.0, which debuts on the Mate 50 series and offers a wide range of services, such as SuperEnergy Boosting, a super power-saving mode.

Of course, it should be noted that neither the price nor the official date of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro’s release on the Spanish market is yet known, although it will surely be around €1,299, as in the rest of Europe where it has already been released.
